Fort Wayne, IN (November 16, 2018): Mattingly Cold Storage commissioned Tippmann Engineering(TE) to conduct freezing and tempering tests with TE’s patented QF+ In-Rack Freezing System. The purpose of the tests was to evaluate freezing and tempering times against traditional blast freezing and tempering methods. Faced with the challenge of a 72 hour freeze time for pork, Mattingly hoped to reach temperatures of 0°F in 48 hours or less while operating a -10°F freezer.
Data from the TE test demonstrated that the QF+ In-Rack Freezing System allowed Mattingly to reach their desired freezing and tempering goals and increase product turn rates. Due to the remarkably effective test results, Mattingly added QF+ to their Zanesville, OH facility.
